We all want to make our mark on the world. To know that our live had purpose and meaning, that we made a difference. One of the fundamentals of conscious leadership is making meaningful impact and leaving a lasting legacy.
Barrack Obama famously said that he saw himself as a relay runner. That his role was merely a piece of a longer race:
“I would take the baton and I would run my leg of the race. And then I’d pass the baton to someone else… Each generation tries to make progress knowing that what we do is not going to be perfect… but hopefully, we’ve run our leg of the race effectively – and the world’s gotten a little better”.
So, ask yourself: do you know what you want YOUR legacy to be?
Because once you know what you want to leave behind, you can get to working on creating and start to live the way that you wish to make meaningful impact. Knowing your legacy will help you focus on what is important and shed light and clarity on your purpose. And make you show up each day like you matter. Because you do.
