To Commit

How commitment changes your life

A new coach

Since the experience that I described in my last Spark of Inspiration, I have been looking for a new coach. A coach that would help me to the next level.  And in my search, I stumbled upon a rare video of Steve Hardison, the Ultimate Coach.

Rare, because he never records his coaching sessions. He simply requires you to be fully present with him and listen with your heart and he does the same.  And he invites you to take away whatever you can from your time with him.

That is powerful. I really wanted to see this video, even though it was over two hours long.

And I didn’t regret it.

Deuce Lutuï

The video is about commitment. It is the story of an NLF American football player, Deuce Lutuï, who didn’t truly believe he was the best at what he was doing. He came to Steve for guidance.

Steve, in his own unique way, made Deuce understand that as long as he didn’t believe he was the best, as long as he didn’t commit fully from the bottom of his heart to be the best, he would never BE the best. And Steve made Deuce believe, deeply believe, that Deuce, and he alone, was THE BEST.

And that changed Deuce’s life: his career, his marriage, everything. Because, from that moment on, he started showing up as the best he could be.

It made me think

Where did I commit? And how did that work out?

And where didn’t I, and how about that?

One thing I did clearly commit to was being the best mum. And maybe I failed at times, but I learned, fell down and stood up again and became humble – I even apologised. And looking back I think I did a darn good job.

I won’t bother you with the other commitments I made that turned out well.

But I will tell you about one I didn’t make.  And it might surprise you.

Because I didn’t make a deep, heartfelt commitment to be THE BEST COACH EVER. To be love and light, to serve you to the best of my ability, to want nothing, and to always listen from my heart. To invite you over the edge and help you fly.

I thought about it, I talked about it, I promised it and I even did it. But when I am completely honest, I didn’t FULLY commit. Simply because I didn’t believe at my core that I could truly and always BE that.

My declaration

And so, I recently made my declaration. It took me a couple of hours. I slowed down, connected deeply, and in the silence, I found the right words. Then I committed, repeatedly. Taking my time to profoundly, deeply, believe every word that I said.

And when I felt that it was done, I took a deep breath, and I went back to work.

I opened my email and saw a request for coaching from an ideal client! And that is how commitment works: you commit, and the whole Universe starts to work for you and bring you everything you need. Because only when you fully commit, can things work out for the best.

I have some more commitments to make.

How about you?

I urge you to see Steve’s video. It will change you, like it changed me.

And then commit to whatever you want to commit to. Deeply and truly.

Loving you,

Nicole
